Bennet built it for Belle Vue Park, and it debuted in April 1973. The ride was on the move soon after; by the end of September that year, Henry Case was running it. The ride was then sold to Charlie Hart in January 1975. After 12 years running the Paratrooper, Charlie Hart sold the machine to Jonathan Gray in March 1988. Jonathan held onto the machine for 17 years before transferring it to Rene Gray in 2005. In March 2010, Rene sold the ride to Tony Cotton, who sold it to Southport Pleasureland just over a year later, in June 2011. Southport Pleasureland used the ride for 2 seasons before Redmond Hill purchased it in June 2013. The Manning family has owned the machine since 2020
