A unique set of Electric Yachts because it was the only set to be built from new to be driven by Electric. Unlike other sets that started their life out using steam, this set was built in 2015 by Savage and was fitted with an electric drive from new, unlike others that had them fitted at a later date. Edmund Holland was the first Showman to operate the machine, and kept it in excellent condition up until he sold it in 1928 to the Robertson Family of Glasgow. The Robertson Bros owned the ride for 77 years, and during this time they named the 2 boats Shamrock & Defender, after the 2 biggest competitors of the Americas Cup. Since the Dorman Brothers took ownership in 2005, the machine has become the last remaining to travel in the UK
