Matterhorn by Sobema is a much-travelled ride with over 10 different owners since its first use in April 1984. The ride arrived with George Heath, but only 11 months later it was sold to Arthur Holland. Arthur operated the machine for 9 years until Anderton and Rowland purchased it in November 1994. Alex Colquhoun became owner number 4 when he began operating the Machine in May 2002, but his ownership would be short-lived, as by December the same year the ride transferred into the ownership of William Roberts. William sold the ride to Bill Smith in January 2007; however, after a loan spell to Barry Island during the 2011 and 2012 season sold the ride in February 2013 to Jordan Cowie and Peter Walker. Peter Walker left the partnership in May 2015, leaving Jordan Cowie to find a buyer. By February 2016, a buyer was found in James Rogers, who operated the ride for 9 years before selling it to current owner Darren Boxall
