Waltzer

Dorman Brothers

Built by Orton and Spooner for the Taylor Brothers in 1934 as a Speedway/Ark, the ride remained with them until 1980 when William Albert Taylor looked after it for a few months whilst a buyer was found. Michael Albert Collins and John Sharland teamed together to purchase the ride but their partnership lasted a mere 2 years and the Ark was sold to Tom Harniess in 1982. Tom's Spell with the Ride came to an end at the end of the 1987 season as the machine was operating under Jim Patterson from 1988 to 1992. Thomas Peel owned the ride for the 1993 season before Tim Gallagher purchased the ride and converted it into a Waltzer in 1994, he sold it to Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach in 1996. The park only used the ride in the 1996 and 1997 seasons, they sold it on to Malcome Dixon in 1999. Malcolm kept the ride until 2002 when he sold it to the Dorman Brothers who have been lovingly restoring it over the years
