Charlton Derry

It was built by Cadoxton-Engineering in 1980 for John Murphy Jnr. The machine has had 11 owners from new, they are John Murphy Jnr from 1980 to 1986, Phillip Wheatley from 1987 to 1997, Tommy Smith Jnr from 1998 to 2001, John Jennings Jnr from 2001 to 2004, Richard Castle from 2004 to 2006 and Dickie Turbett from 2006 to 2008. At this point, the machine's name was also changed from Meteorite to Energizer. In 2009 the ride was owned for less than 10 months by Gavin Stirling before Ross Swallow owned it for even less, his stint lasted only 5 months from January 2010 to May 2010. The ride spent the following 3 years up to 2013 at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park in South Shields before Vance Smith took ownership in January 2014. In 2015, Charlton Derry purchased the machine and is currently enjoying its longest period of ownership.
