Debuted in 1985 with Piet Werwijk in the Netherlands after being built by Belgian manufacturers Sobema, Piet presented the ride until 1987 when he sold it to a fellow showman from the Netherlands, J. van Eijk. In 1988, Martin Holland, a showman/ride supplier in the UK, purchased the machine to fill a spot on a two-year commitment at Corrigan Amusement Park in Bridlington. At the end of the 89 season, Thriller was put up for sale. After several months of being on the market, the 40-seater Matterhorn found a new home with Bernard Matthews, Bernard had the ride for 16 successful years from 1990 to 2006 before selling it to Anderton & Rowland. The Machine was presented by Anderton and Rowland from 2006 to 2022 before Richard Hart took ownership of it
