This Sobema Superbob is most possibly one of the most famous in the UK, however, in its early years looked like this Bidule was going to paint a different picture. The ride made its debut in 1982 at Blackpool Pleasure Beach but within months it was moved on, it spent the 1983 season at Coney Beach in Wales. Again failing to make its mark the machine moved on to Butlins Bogner Regis from 1984 to 1987, Graham Sedgwick operated it from 1987 to 1990. He sold it to Martin Holland in September 1990, and he loaned it straight out to Bayside Fun Park for the 1991 Season and then sold it to Henry Wilson on the ride's return. Henry Wilson owned the machine from 1991 to 1997 followed by John Lewis from 1998 to 2006, Perrin Mott Jnr' then became the owner in 2006 but he soon sold it in 2009 to Swaley Elliot who had it for 7 years. In 2016 the ride started its journey to become one of the most famous Superbobs of modern times, Cy Abbott purchased the ride and started a complete program of changes with it. The ride received new artwork from the fantastic Mark Abbott, the machine received a canopy that would open to cover the front and rear of the ride, a new sound and lighting package was fitted and a new pay box. The ride received the name New York New York to fit the New York Taxi theming that the ride was painted in and under excellent showman skills the ride went on to win multiple awards. The ride was made so prominent in the funfair enthusiast's world that when Cy Abbott announced he intended to sell the ride to Tom Harris in early 2024, the shockwaves were felt throughout the UK
