Maxwell built it for James G. Botton and made its Debut outing in 1972. Within 2 years of the ride opening, James sold the machine to George Heath Jnr, who held onto the Waltzer until 1983. The Waltzer went on to become one of Stewart Robinson's most successful rides, after snapping it up in 1983, he went on to operate it for 41 years before replacing it in 2024 with a brand new 4-hill Fairtrade Waltzer. The Waltzer is now owned by the newly formed company M&B Attractions.
