Golden Gallopers

Lawrance Bimbo Bishton

Frederic Savage built this Carousel for William Toft of Dublin in 1890. It was Labelled The Steam Carousel (No 1 Galloper). Research shows that the machine was used until around 1945 when it was placed into storage. Keith Emmit and Sons purchased what remained of the ride in 1989, unfortunately, 44 years of storage had destroyed most of the ride. In 1989, after much logistic work, the remains were purchased by Lawrance Bishton, after 6 months and 1000's hours of friends and family time the ride once again took to the road in Easter 1990. The ride belongs to a company that was now owned by Lawrance Bishton and Brett Graham
