Built by Elie Bridge Company in the USA in 1949, it was 30 years before the wheel arrived in the UK under the ownership of Graeme Johnson in 1979. Graeme held onto the Ferris Wheel for 16 years but eventually sold it to Tony Hall in 1995. Atlantis Star was then purchased by the Howard Brothers in 2007 and was renovated not long after.
