Gallopers

Howard Bros

One of the oldest Carousel sets around, these Gallopers have had 10 different owners and amassed nearly 40 years of service. Built by Savage back in 1886 for John Studt the machine has also seen good spells with 2 of the most famous family names in show business, the Whittle Family and the Whitelegg Family. Both the Whittle family (1912 to 1949) and the Whitelegg family (1949 to 1981) had seen the ride pass multiple members of their families while it was in their ownership. In October 1981 George Furborough purchased the Gallopers from Alf Whitelegg, he only operated the machine until 1983 when he accepted an offer from Paul Webb. Paul Webbs' ownership was a small spell to (3 years) as in 1986 he sold it to Jimmy Noyce, He operated it until the Howards purchased the ride in 2005
