Helter Skelter

Henry Chipperfield

Supercar built this Helter Skelter under the brand Lighthouse Slip. It made its first outing with Bertie Ayres Snr in 1953. Bernie kept the Attraction for 13 years before selling it to Charles Horsley. He kept the slide until 1976. Robert Howard became the owner in 1976. However, the records became a bit patchy from this point, and the years of transfer are unknown, but the next owner was Bertie Ayres Jr. In 1984 the Slide was in Chessington Zoo until they sold it to West Midland Safari Park in 1987, after 1999 it's unknown what the status of the slide was as once again it had vanished from the radar. However, what is not in doubt is the purchase records show that Folly Farm had taken ownership of the ride in 2003 and presented it there until Henry Chippenfield Jnr NO.1 purchased it in September 2014, It currently has a pride and place as part of Chipperfields Vintage Funfairs.
